Empowerment

Empowering Through Purpose
Bayede! is a brand built on purpose. Every decision we make—from who we hire to how we harvest—is rooted in empowerment, equity, and legacy. When you choose Bayede!, you’re not just buying wine; you’re investing in people, progress, and a more inclusive future.

Women Empowerment Foundation
At the heart of our impact is the Bayede! Women Empowerment Foundation, a program designed to equip rural women with economic agency. More than 95% of our bead workers, who handcraft the beaded neckpieces on every Bayede! bottle, are women. We offer them skills development, stable income, and a platform for their artistry.
This program is a partnership between Bayede! our much-needed artisans. Their work transforms each bottle into a story of resilience and pride.

Creating Jobs, Creating Futures
Bayede! directly supports 6 full-time employees and over 30 part-time artisans, many of whom are single mothers or caregivers. Our joint venture partner, De Goree Farm, employs 61 individuals and extends support to pensioned retirees, ensuring continuity, dignity, and generational impact.
Our joint venture model ensures inclusive economic participation and builds sustainable pathways across the wine and spirits value chain.

Sustainability & Legacy
Sustainability at Bayede! means people first. It means sourcing locally, training responsibly, and building long-term relationships with our partners and customers. It also means honouring the land and traditions we come from.We are committed to:
- Ethical sourcing and production
- Long-term partnerships with local communities and Black-owned supply chains
- Environmentally mindful practices on our vineyards and in production - minimising waste, preserving soil, and championing biodiversity.
Every bottle we produce is a testament to African excellence, responsibility, and the unbreakable bond between people and place.
